Apply Today!Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Automation is responsible for the leadership and stewardship of the Automation Center of Excellence teams, including but not limited to Operational Support, Business Intelligence and Automation Delivery. They are responsible for leading and coaching the management staff with a focus on providing guidance and expertise for leadership development, continuous improvement of uninterrupted operations, planning / executing development efforts and implementing strategies that ensure the Automation department can continue to deliver increasing value over time. The Director uses their staff of automation engineers to define solutions for enterprise impacting automation ideas, develop those solutions using the appropriate technical framework, and provide ongoing support through the automation lifecycle. The Director uses their staff of system engineers and automation analysts to implement, support, and maintain enterprise automationThe Director of Automation will lead teams who align business and operational priorities with technology resilience, leveraging best practices, staffing partners and fulltime offshore resources to maximize system availability and stakeholder satisfaction. This person will define technology roadmaps, set problem priorities, establish standards based on best practices and provide direction and priority to IT operational teams through the technical leaders who maintain product backlogs. The Director needs good communication and interpersonal skills and will be interfacing directly with executives and product teams across the organization.The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of complex ideas and broadly communicate a product technology strategy and meet the needs of the team and stakeholders. This role requires attentive listening and demonstrating a strong executive presence as they will routinely meet with senior-level business management and present to large groups. The Director of Automation Shared Services will perform all duties with a focus on quality of work, attention to detail and a high level of self-management and self-awareness.Major ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day enhancement activities and product support of the Automation organizationCollaborate with key stakeholders to identify and implement technology solutions and services to address and translates their needs.Drives adoption of the company automation strategy and simplification processesAssist the AVP in the development of ITG’s strategies using strategic planning concepts.Direct strategic development, management and deployment of automation development across business linesEnsure application design to manage and maintain data security and integrityEnsures the utilization of software release managementDeliver software, infrastructure and architecture that meets the needs of automation stakeholdersImplement mechanisms to monitor, manage and provide progress on all software development activitiesEnsure the on time and quality delivery of software development projectsDevelop and maintains internal and external IT support systemsCreate, implement and maintain a continuous improvement plan for automation developmentDrive consistent standards and approaches throughout the development teams Provide enterprise consultation on automation best practices and developmentPrepares specifications of a highly technical or complex nature. Improve productivity and efficiency; promote continuous improvement.Develop strategic relationships with vendors, especially for sourcing onshore and offshore resources.Evaluate current and emerging tools and technologies and recommending these tools to executive management.Willing to model the way and lead by example and have an unmistakably clear set of strong business and personal ethics.Creates a positive environment for the team including open, honest communication and a clear path to escape risks and issues.
