Your role is essential in helping the company competitively bid projects while protecting profitability and mitigating risk. You will collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and the preconstruction team to qualify bids, verify scopes of work, and ensure compliance with project requirements. Timely and precise estimates will support project planning and contribute to winning new business in the competitive Austin market.Responsibilities:Analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimatesPrepare and coordinate bid proposals, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricingReview and qualify subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness and complianceCollaborate with project managers and preconstruction teams during the bidding processManage multiple bids simultaneously within deadlinesEnsure compliance with project-specific bidding regulations and company goalsMaintain proficiency in estimating software and internal systemsIdentify and report scope changes or risks that could affect budget or scheduleParticipate in post-bid reviews and assist in preparing change order pricing when neededPresent estimates and proposals to internal teams and clients as requiredQualifications:4+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (open to more experienced candidates as well)Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and commercial project scopesExpertise reading and interpreting construction documents and specificationsProficiency with estimating software (such as MC2, Sage, QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar)Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage deadlines and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and quality in estimatesInterested in hearing more?
