Our goal is to help customers reduce energy costs, lower carbon emissions, and increase energy independence.Position OverviewWe are seeking aField Technician Team Leader - Heat Pump Projectsto support our Smart Heating & Cooling Division. This role focuses on the installation and commissioning of air-to-air and geothermal heat pump systems in residential and small commercial environments. The Team Leader will manage a small crew, perform hands-on installation work, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a field installation crew of 2-3 techniciansOversee job site operations, tools, and safety complianceCoordinate schedules and installation updates with project managementInstall and commission heat pump systems, including performance testingInstall indoor and outdoor HVAC components, ductwork, condensate systems, refrigerant lines, and geothermal loop systemsEnsure EPA compliance for refrigerant handlingComplete QA checklists and project closeout documentationMaintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction QualificationsUniversal EPA Section 608 Certification (required)Minimum 2 years of experience installing and commissioning heat pump systems (air-to-air and/or geothermal)Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical wiring, low-voltage controls, and refrigerant chargingExperience using commissioning tools and smart thermostatsComfortable using mobile apps and digital documentation toolsValid Class D driver's licenseProven leadership and communication skills Preferred ExperienceGeothermal loop installation and flushingElectrical service work or HVAC controls integrationMilitary or technical trades backgroundSmart thermostat and app-based system setupExperience with energy-efficient or sustainable building systems BenefitsFull-time position401(k) with employer match (eligible after one year)Paid time offCompany vehicle for team leadsTop-quality tools and equipmentTraining and mentorship from experienced HVAC and renewable energy techniciansLong-term career development roadmapSupportive, mission-driven team environment Work LocationIn-person role based in Bainbridge, NYTravel to nearby job sites (up to 90 minutes)IGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Employment is contingent upon successful background check and drug screening.
