Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVPICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position at a pediatric hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience and an OH or Compact RN license in hand. Responsibilities Position is located within a pediatric hospital setting in the CVPICU Weekend-only schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30) Patient population includes pediatric cardiovascular and congenital heart disease cases Floating is required and may include assignments in the NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and med-surg units Skills utilized include hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ECMO, CRRT, arterial line and central line management, PICC line management, ventilator management, and IV vasopressors Additional procedures include post cardiac surgery care, post cardiac catheterization care, ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) management, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care, and pediatric dosage calculations Preferred skills include experience with ECMO, congenital heart disease/repair, post cardiac surgery, post cardiac catheterization, ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD), central line blood draw, and CRRT Travelers must be fully prepared to float to other units and comply with facility float expectations First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active OH or Compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience in a pediatric hospital — this is a hard stop requirement Two supervisory references required for consideration; at least one must hold a manager or supervisor title (charge nurse references do not qualify) Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position Must not have worked permanently for this facility within the past 2 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-674659.
