The Fleet Compliance Lead oversees daily fleet titling, registration, cab card, IRP, and IFTA activities to ensure company assets are properly credentialed, compliant, and operational. This role serves as the subject matter expert for fleet compliance matters, supports regulatory audits, manages vendor relationships, and partners cross-functionally to minimize risk and maximize asset availability. The position provides operational leadership and strategic support to the Fleet Compliance Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead day-to-day Fleet Compliance operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory adherence Supervise and support Fleet Compliance Processors, including workload oversight, training, and performance guidance Review and approve title, tax, registration, IRP, cab card, and IFTA documentation Oversee the full lifecycle of fleet credentials from acquisition through disposition Maintain dealership licenses and ensure ongoing compliance with state and federal regulations Manage IFTA accounts, renewals, quarterly filings, and audit readiness Serve as primary liaison with DMVs, BMVs, IRP agencies, law enforcement, and third-party vendors Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance Partner with Operations, Finance, and Sales to align fleet compliance with business timelines Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs while identifying process improvement opportunities Monitor compliance systems and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce risk Required Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of experience in vehicle titling, fleet registration, cab cards, IRP, or IFTA administration Strong knowledge of state and federal fleet compliance regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, resolve compliance discrepancies, and implement solutions Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-state environment Self-directed, accountable, and results-oriented Preferred Skills and Qualifications Prior fleet, dealership, or transportation compliance experience Supervisory or team leadership experience Notary Public certification (preferred) Experience supporting compliance audits Multi-state titling and IRP knowledge Skills & Competencies Operational leadership Regulatory compliance and risk mitigation Process improvement Cross-functional collaboration Detail orientation and deadline management Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility and other geographic locations Frequent use of hands, arms, vision, and verbal communication Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus Work Environment & Expectations This role operates in a high-accountability environment with clearly defined standards for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The manager is direct, sets high expectations, and prioritizes getting the work done correctly the first time. Training and documentation will be provided; however, employees are expected to take detailed notes, reference training materials, and work toward independent performance within a reasonable learning period.
