Payroll Specialist The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role supports the accounting department by ensuring payroll data is complete and compliant, maintaining precise payroll records, and assisting with payroll-related reporting and reconciliations. Key Responsibilities Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally in accordance with established timelines Review and validate employee time records, pay rates, deductions, and payroll adjustments Prepare weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and in accordance with established schedules Ensure payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining complete and accurate payroll records, reports, and supporting documentation Administer payroll withholdings, including taxes, garnishments, benefits, and other authorized deductions Prepare payroll tax filings, payments, and payroll-related reports to support the Human Resources and Accounting departments Collaborate with the Accounting department during month-end and year-end close to reconcile payroll registers, payroll liabilities, and general ledger accounts, and resolve discrepancies Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll documentation and explanations Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Strong understanding of payroll processes and payroll tax requirements Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Preferred Skills Experience working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance Experience working with Paycom
