Based in Phoenix, Arizona | 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization Human Resources Generalist Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Location: 3216 N 3rd St, Phoenix AZ 85016 Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day HR operations and will work in close coordination with the Human Resources Team. The HR Generalist will provide administrative support for all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, record keeping, benefits, compliance and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Prepares and maintains company personnel records and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Maintains and audits HR records in areas of responsibility for data integrity and generates reports as needed or as requested. Provide full-cycle recruitment; update job vacancies on all recruiting platforms, screen, source resumes and coordinate interviews for Hiring Managers. Coordinates onboarding programs and ensures pre-employment items are completed; offer letters, background and reference checks, health screening, employment verifications, tax forms, etc. Schedule and perform new employee orientation and training. Assists with the creation and maintenance of job descriptions and employee classification for all positions within NAC. Work closely with the Accounting Dept and payroll team to ensure they have all necessary human resource data complete for payroll. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions. Provides regular communication on benefits changes or updates Continually update job knowledge and skills in employment practices and trends, by participating in educational opportunities. Ensure adherence to department and organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: Meet deadline Demonstrate cooperation and teamwork Crosstrain on specific job responsibilities Meet identified HR business goals that contribute to overall NAC business goals Perform other duties and projects assigned Educational Requirement / Work Experience: Associate's degree in human resources, business or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. Three to five years' experience in the field of Human Resources. Knowledge of core HR responsibilities and management. Skills Requirement: Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Experience in working with the Native American population preferred. Demonstrate time management skills to achieve multiple tasks and job completion to agreed-upon deadlines and managing tasks efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations. Native American Preference: Preference may be given to qualified Native American Indians according to the Indian Preference Hiring Act, CFR 25 USC 472. Fair Labor Standards Act: This position is Exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek.
