Customs House Brokerage Entry Writer The Customs House Brokerage Entry Writer is responsible for supporting all aspects of the daily operations of customs house brokerage for DACHSER USA's Air & Sea Logistics division. Responsibilities include: Submitting timely CHB entries/classification/handling OGA's and providing dispatch assistance. Monitoring and paying statements as directed by the Import Manager. Maintaining communications and providing customer service to customers, carriers, vendors, and other DACHSER offices. Handling billing clients/approval of vendor invoices. Coordinating ISF and filing ISF prior to 48-72 hours prior to vessel departure. Maintaining knowledge of regulations and ensuring complete compliance with all legal requirements and corporate policies and procedures. Performing other duties as required and assigned. Requirements include: High school diploma or its equivalent. Minimum 3-4 years of experience working in customs brokerage. Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service required. Position will interact with customers by phone, email, and in-person frequently. Professional demeanor, including excellent written & verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Windows programs, specifically Word and Excel. Stellar organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical Demands/Work Environment: No heavy lifting is expected; although exertion of up to 20 pounds of force may be required on occasion. Manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc. Sitting for extended periods of time is common. Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. This position is performed in a traditional office setting.
