IT Technician Join the team that brings the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair to life! As our IT Technician, you'll be a key player in the magic behind the scenes and the go-to person for all things tech. You will provide essential hands-on support for the systems and people that power our organization, ensuring a seamless experience for our staff and the hundreds of thousands of guests who enjoy our iconic annual Fair. The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition, Inc. is a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose Mission is dedicated to enriching our community by promoting education and South Florida agriculture while showcasing and rewarding youth achievement. This is accomplished by producing a first-class Fair with quality entertainment and providing facilities and resources for year-round events. The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition is a truly iconic South Florida outdoor family entertainment event held each spring on the fairgrounds located within Tamiami Park in southwest Miami-Dade County, Florida. The Youth Fair, as it is commonly known, is our organization's major fundraiser providing the financial resources to meet and grow our commitment as outlined in our Mission. Primary Job Responsibilities Provide first-level, in-person and phone-based technical support for end users, computers, and printers. Assist users with basic "how-to" questions regarding daily applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. Support users in following security best practices, including password resets. Monitor printers, copiers, and fax machines to ensure they are stocked with paper/toner and functioning properly. Help update basic user-facing guides and documentation for common technical procedures. Assist with the physical installation and relocation of workstations, including cabling and peripheral setup. Perform basic hardware cleaning and routine maintenance on PCs and printers. Assist with basic support and setup for Android and iOS devices. Support Point of Sale (POS) devices by ensuring they are physically connected and functioning during events. Provide a high degree of professionalism and end-user satisfaction and work well with others. Any and all additional tasks as may be required and requested. Skills and Prior Work Experience Required Six months to one year of experience in a customer service or basic IT support role. Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish). Familiarity with Microsoft products such as Office365 and Windows 10/11. Basic understanding of computer hardware components and peripheral connectivity. Basic knowledge of mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Android). Must show aptitude and desire to learn new skills on the job. Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing. Good troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and assist with multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to work under pressure with interruptions and challenging deadlines. Work Schedule and Physical Requirements This position's traditional business hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The individual selected for this position must also be able to work non-traditional and flexible business hours as will be necessary especially but not limited to the time period leading up to the annual Youth Fair, during the run of the Youth Fair and the time period immediately following the annual Youth Fair. Non-traditional and flexible business hours will be necessary due to the business requirements of the organization's Fair Expo business. The position requires ascending and descending ladders as well as working under desks. It also requires the ability to lift and carry equipment. The position does not include an organization provided vehicle. Relocation expenses are not included.
