Position Summary The Product Manager owns the full product lifecycle for an assigned group of apparel programs. This role is accountable for taking garments from initial concept through development, production, and delivery, ensuring assortments are commercially viable, margin-appropriate, and delivered on time and to quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to an apparel professional who thrives in a rapid, high-volume environment. Core Responsibilities Product Development & Sourcing Act as category expert for assigned product types (e.g., knits, wovens, activewear, or loungewear), including fabric selection, construction methods, and technical feasibility. Translate design and merchant direction into executable product: determine make strategies, appropriate vendors, and fabric platforms to achieve target costs and margins. Collaborate with factories, mills, and service providers to support both private label and licensed programs. Lead cost engineering and negotiations, leveraging volume, fabric efficiencies, and construction optimization to hit margin goals without sacrificing quality. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, Merchandising, or related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of progressive experience in apparel product management, product development, merchandising, or related functions. Proven leadership experience managing a small team or owning a full category/pod with cross-functional influence. Track record of success with major retailers (e.g., big-box, mass, department stores, specialty, or e-commerce partners). Experience working within fast-paced, quick-turn calendars and accelerated fit/development models. Strong understanding of apparel manufacturing, textile sourcing, garment construction, and production workflows. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and deliveries simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with internal teams, external vendors, and retail partners. Comfort with margin analysis, cost breakdowns, and scenario planning to support commercial decision-making. Proficiency in key product tools (e.g., PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, or similar design/development platforms; advanced Excel a plus).
