Project Manager - Chemical Manufacturing Wood is recruiting for a Project Manager - Chemical Manufacturing to join its Operations Americas business focusing on Oil & Gas BU. This opportunity is onsite in La Porte, TX, United States. The Role Wood is seeking a motivated Project Manager to lead small to moderate capital and maintenance projects within an operating chemical manufacturing facility. Ideal for someone with practical experience in I/E, mechanical, or light civil workfrom craft, operations, engineering, or project managementwho is eager to grow and coordinate multi-discipline projects in a plant environment. Oversee project financials including forecasting, cost control, margin performance, and cash collection. Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Coordinate multi-discipline work with operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendors. Lead change management, negotiate scope adjustments, and maintain strong customer relationships. Provide regular progress reporting and proactively address risks or delays. Ensure team competency, promote performance improvement, and support HSSE programs. Manage project information, documentation, and close-out activities. Qualifications What Makes You Remarkable? PMP/APM certification preferred. 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including 23 years managing projects or major project components. Strong understanding of project management practices, scheduling, estimating, risk management, and contract models. Experience in oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments preferred. Personal Attributes Safety-focused with strong risk awareness. Excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder. Customer-oriented with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. Flexible, decisive, and able to work independently while knowing when to escalate. Commercially minded with a pragmatic, improvement-driven approach.
