Paralegal The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys in the Legal Department to assist with the management of the Legal Department function. Assist the attorneys in administrative functions necessary to ensure the processes associated with regulatory functions; namely, examinations and other regulatory inquiries, are managed appropriately. Assist in the management of the legal hold function. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provide assistance to the legal function and the business in the preparation, review, organization, and maintenance of documents provided to regulators in conjunction with regulatory examinations and other regulatory submissions. Assist with preparation and scheduling of onsite regulatory examination sessions including booking conference rooms, coordinating calendars, preparing materials for onsite interview sessions, and conducting follow-up activities with internal stakeholders, as needed. Provide administrative support to the litigation team, including preparation of documents for subpoenas, audits and other meetings as necessary. Support the litigation processes by preparing the documents for subpoenas. Assist in the maintenance of Legal Department physical and electronic files, including contributing to the development of the Legal Department file plan to document the location of official records in accordance with the company record retention schedule and applicable regulatory obligations. Assist in the distribution and management of legal holds. Understand, manage, facilitate, and follow department policies and procedures, as well as track the updating of same. Draft and provide advice regarding policies, procedures, and memoranda relative to the foregoing and other areas on an as needed basis. Draft minutes for internal working groups, as necessary. Assist with department contract management, as necessary. Track and ensure compliance with internal departmental requirements. Perform internet and legal research as necessary. Support special projects as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Well-organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while successfully managing several substantial assignments. Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as on a team and to quickly shift priorities in response to changing business environment or priorities. Excellent analytical, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively, including through effective communication, with internal clients from different departments at various levels of seniority. Ability to promptly produce high-quality, accurate, and detailed work product. Ability to work in a capacity with strict privacy and confidentiality requirements. Experience managing discovery responses and maintaining litigation case files. Technical Skills & Background: Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with ECF/Pacer and public docket searches preferred. Proficiency with Sharepoint, JIRA, Appian and project management a plus. Certifications: Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program and/or law firm experience preferred. Education & Training: Degree from an accredited college or university, with at least 2 years' experience as a paralegal. [Preferred] Degree from an accredited college or university.
