HDR has an exciting opportunity for a proven leader and technically exceptional individual in the field of water and wastewater to join our Florida Water Business Group as a Senior Water / Wastewater Project Manager. Primary duties of this position will include: Serving as the trust client-facing project manager for a variety of technical delivery projects Developing project design criteria, schematics and methods Preparing preliminary design, basis of design reports, routing and alignment studies, and other engineering reports Developing and writing engineering specifications and front-end documents Overseeing the production of design drawings Developing and executing QA/QC and risk management plans for each project Working directly with the owner to ensure that the project exceeds the owner's expectations Lead and/or support client management and business development activities including pursuit planning, proposals, interviews, and client strategy If needed, the Senior Project Manager may be needed to perform detailed design work themselves to support the project and as such, the candidate should have an exceptional demonstrated technical background. Beyond technical delivery, the Senior Project Manager will be expected to collaborate with leadership, other project managers, and technical staff across Florida to maintain HDR's commitment to excellent technical delivery for our clients. Specific activities related to the overall technical delivery program could include development of a technical mentorship and development program, reviewing existing detailed design standards, direct mentoring and/or supervision of staff, engagement in the group's quality control and compliance program, lead abstract development and review activities for local conferences, and involvement in the review of scopes of work and associated fees. Lastly, the Senior Project Manager is expected to actively engage in client management activities (e.g. internal client management calls, client meetings) and participate in the overall strategy discussions for successfully marketing with our clients in an effort to grow HDR's book of business in the Orlando and Central Florida area. Keywords: Detailed Design, Water, Wastewater, Engineering, Process Mechanical, Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Pump Stations, Treatment Plants, Pipelines, Business Development, Leadership, Technical Development Preferred Qualifications Masters of Engineering in Civil, or Environmental 12 years related experience in the water / wastewater industry Existing and established relationships with clients in the Orlando area water / wastewater marketplace Proven and significant process mechanical detailed design experience, including with technologies and equipment, to lead efforts associated with the group's technical delivery program Proven leadership and commitment to the technical development and mentorship of staff Experience developing detailed scopes and fees for a wide variety of planning and design projects Excellent communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills Experience in supervising staff Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering 10 years related experience A minimum 5 years project management experience Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
