Senior Specialist, Billing Your Role As a Senior Billing Specialist, you will play a key role within the U.S. Order-to-Cash (O2C) function, ensuring accurate, timely, and optimized billing operations for over $1bn of invoicing per annum. In this fast-paced finance environment, you will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for high-quality invoice processing, issue resolution, and continuous improvement across the billing lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross functional partnersincluding Collections, Cash Application, Credit Control, Accounts Payable, and Hays Business Services (HBS)to support end-to-end processes and uphold exceptional customer service standards. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the right thing will position you as a trusted partner to internal teams and clients. Overall Objective Reporting to the O2C Director, the Senior Billing Specialist will ensure all billing activities are executed with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will support escalations, analyze transactions, improve billing workflows, and help drive results that benefit internal stakeholders, improve cash flow visibility, and enhance customer experience. This role supports the full OTC cycle, with emphasis on: Billing optimization Data accuracy Issue resolution Collaboration with HBS Finance Shared Services (FSS) Process automation and improvement Key Role Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end billing process for U.S. operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice generation Review and validate data from HBS before billing to ensure accuracy and compliance Resolve complex escalated billing issues from customers, internal teams, and suppliers Support O2C activities including customer billing, dispute management, MDM, and A related billing inputs Partner with the HBS billing and collections teams to verify information, correct discrepancies, and maintain data integrity Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency Monitor and report key metrics related to billing and OTC performance Support system enhancements, automation opportunities, and process standardization Review complex transactions and billing scenarios as required Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and audit requirements Collaborate with cross functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance customer satisfaction Essential skills Deliver high-quality customer service with accuracy and reliability Demonstrate curiosity, proactively identifying improvement opportunities Be a strong team player with a positive, collaborative mindset Ownership driven, accountable, and performance focused Technical Skills and experience Extensive experience in end-to-end O2C processes within a large, multinational finance environment Strong analytical skills with the ability to assemble and interpret financial data Proven track record of using metrics to guide decisions and improve performance Ability to manage multiple tasks and drive positive change Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including customer facing interactions Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) 5+ years of experience in billing, O2C, or related finance operations Experience with VMS systems and billing platforms, Fieldglass and Beeline are advantageous What we offer: We offer base compensation starting at $60K+ plus bonus 22 days of PTO, plus recognized holidays, float days and bereavement Competitively priced medical, vision and dental plans to choose what works best for you. 401K with guaranteed match and fast-paced vesting schedule.
