Events Manager We are currently seeking an Events Manager to join our Experience Management (XM) team. The Events Manager main duty is to sell and manage the event spaces and Conference Center. This individual will provide exemplary customer service and event planning management according to JLL Experience Management and client standards. The Events Manager is also responsible for contract management, accurate reports detailing client requests and billing of services to client, maintenance of website, coordination of vendors and management of the Conference Center team. This position will require flexible availability in the evenings and on Saturdays. Responsibilities include: Serve as primary contact for evening and weekend event operations Manage the day-to-day operation of conference center events including corporate, social, and non-profit events, and internal meetings Conduct client meet and greet prior to event as well as post event follow up as directed Maintain vendor relationships, agreements and certificates of insurance Assist clients with onsite event coordination including, but not limited to catering, hotel accommodations, decorations, etc. Coordinate labor for events including janitorial and security and loading dock schedule Be knowledgeable of the conference center audio visual equipment and its operation as well as maintain and secure equipment Keep up to date status of all contracts for events, preferred vendors, non-preferred vendors, etc. Distributes inner office memos as directed Coordinate appropriate labor for all events and as directed Coordinate security as directed Secure insurance certificates (COI) as directed File all correspondence as directed Confirm client full payment is received prior to all events Responsible for the supervision of the Conference Center staff and vendor staff, providing daily support and management of job performance Manage staff to meet JLL Experience Management, and contracted client's expectation Evaluates and participates in the hiring of Conference Center staff Provide training in JLL Experience Management policies and procedures Counsels and coaches team members regarding unsatisfactory performance, including recommendation of termination when appropriate Handle all event planning requests in a timely manner See planning through from beginning to end to ensure that they run smoothly Be proactive to provide follow-up, updates and status on any and all requests in a timely manner Other concierge-related requests, as needed Other reports, duties, meetings as needed Job qualifications, education and experience: Four-year degree preferred or partial degree with life experience 5+ years' experience in event industry. Hospitality, or related field is desirable. 3-5 years' experience direct event planning Conference Center management, highly recommended Superior knowledge of local dining, entertainment venues, and ability to match client desires to the appropriate venue Direct hotel/catering/event sales and marketing experience preferably coming from the hospitality industry with 3-5 years' experience. Experience in management of employees. Must be able to develop and evaluate Event Revenue Summaries. Must have experience developing and leading marketing activities to include website development. Must have contract negotiation experience Candidates with outside sales experience and cold calling is a plus. Must have high proficiency in MS Excel and other spreadsheets, experience with CRMs, i.e. Salesforce, Caterease, etc. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, accommodating and communicating to a broad range of clientele with varied needs Able to think quickly and efficiently when confronted with a client request Motivated self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision Creative problem-solver Proactive, approachable and solution-focused Professional demeanor and appearance Strong planning and organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Takes initiative and anticipates needs of others Flexible and adaptable Punctual and consistent Anticipates the needs of clients Computer literacy, specifically MS Office applications and Internet Commitment to company values Superior knowledge of Corporate/Social Club amenities and services You'll have a proven track record of results as we'll expect you to act decisively, think big, and manage your time to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Estimated compensation for this position: 71,000.00 74,600.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
