Procedure Scheduler Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology is looking for a Procedure Scheduler to join our team. Purpose: Excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a strong ability to multi-task. Responsibilities for this role: Schedule all appointments according to guidelines set by physicians and facilities for participating physicians. Call patients to schedule various appointments at the direction of the primary care physician or other referring provider. Request any pertinent medical documentation needed by physicians to assist in patient care. Obtain current and accurate insurance information for proper payment for services provided. Provide exceptional customer service and patient support. Understand medical terminology or willingness to learn. Familiarity with state/federal commercial health insurance payers, or willingness to learn. This position involves sitting at a desk, using computer and phone for a period of up to 8 hours with normal breaks and mealtimes. Ability to manage a large volume of calls. Work with other departments on assigned projects. Desirable qualities in a candidate: High School diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of EMR and AllScripts highly desirable. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, required. A sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted medical standards. Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders, and medication orders. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and function as a team-player.
