Summary: Under direct supervision, identifies patients at nutritional risk, plans and implements medical nutrition therapy for assigned populations. This position is for 4 Days a week - 10hr shift Responsibilities: Develops and provides patient education, training, consulting, and counseling services throughout the organization. Collaborates with the Food Service department to provide nutritionally appropriate menus, food options, and services for patients. Assesses patients nutritional status and needs. Develops and implements care plans, monitors patients' progress, and updates interventions. Completes thorough and timely documentation of patient sessions in the electronic health record. Performs nutrition focused physical examinations and collaborates with the physicians on malnutrition diagnoses when appropriate. Collaborates with physicians, nursing, pharmacy and other healthcare team members and departments to determine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy. Communicates plans of care with patients and their families when appropriate. Education and Certification Requirements: Masters (Required)Dietitian/Nutritionist License (ND LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Registered Dietitian CDR Certification (CDR) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)/ Required Work Experience: No experience required. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required for those individuals that are registered or have established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023.A minimum of a master’s degree is required for those seeking eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians for the first time, on or after January 1, 2024.Additional Credential Info: Registered Dietitian CDR Certification or Registration Eligible, RDN and obtain registration and FL Dietitian/Nutritionist license within six (6) months of hire.
