Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist Lorain County Community College is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support the College's financial integrity and operational excellence. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements while maintaining transparent, compliant financial processes that support the College's mission and student success. Key Responsibilities: Process high-volume invoices in Oracle Cloud ERP, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and compliance with College policies. Monitor payment timelines and resolve discrepancies with vendors and campus departments. Audit employee expense reports for accuracy, policy compliance, and supporting documentation. Communicate clearly and professionally with employees to resolve issues and discrepancies. Support annual Form 1099 reporting by reconciling payment data, verifying taxpayer information, and assisting with the distribution and filing of tax forms in accordance with IRS regulations. Partner with the Manager of Accounting to perform account reconciliations and transaction analysis to ensure General Ledger accuracy. Support financial, grant, and other audits by compiling requested documentation while ensuring Accounts Payable records meet College and regulatory compliance standards. Qualifications: Successful completion of at least three college-level accounting courses. Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel. Preferred Qualifications: College or business school graduate with a degree or certificate in accounting, business, or related field. Two years of experience in an accounting environment. Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP or a similar enterprise financial system. Starting at an hourly rate of $18.41, commensurate with experience, education, and established pay practices.
