Assistant Project Manager Local Projects My client is a mid-sized, employee-owned general contractor with a true family feel, where everyone has each other's back. Job Description Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating all phases of construction projects. Run the project with the Project Manager and have experience running them yourself. Assist with subcontractor procurement, scope review, contract preparation, and performance tracking. Maintain and update project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily logs. Monitor project budgets and cost reports, flagging variances and assisting with corrective actions. Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and inspections to keep the schedule on track. Communicate regularly with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues. Help enforce safety protocols and quality control standards on-site. Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items. Support project closeout activities including punch lists, warranty documentation, and turnover packages. The Successful Applicant A successful Assistant Project Manager should have: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of commercial, educational, multifamily, or institutional construction experience, ideally with a general contractor. Strong understanding of construction methods and trades, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Procore. Skilled in reading drawings, managing multiple priorities, communicating with project stakeholders, and solving problems with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
