Position Overview: Annual ED Volume: 45,000 visits Shift Coverage: 36 hours of physician coverage per day 40 hours of APP (Advanced Practice Provider) coverage per day Patient Population: Predominantly adult and geriatric Low pediatric volume (~6%) No trauma designation No OB/GYN EMR: Cerner Bed Count: 28 private and bariatric-capable rooms Key Features: Recently renovated emergency department with modern amenities Strong hospitalist support team for admissions and inpatient care Designated Stroke Center with tele-neurology currently being implemented High acuity adult volume with access to advanced imaging and specialty support Requirements: Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain DEA license Experience working in high-volume EDs preferred Comfortable managing a wide range of emergency presentations in a non-trauma setting Nestled in the heart of Citrus County, Inverness is a welcoming community known for its beautiful lakes, bike trails, and small-town charm.
