The RN Clinical Manager is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, direct, and indirect patient-centered care through the continuum of nursing care. General Duties Leadership: Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization. Assists in managing associated areas both operationally and fiscally. Maintains a close working relationship with other hospital managers and serves on committees to provide efficient and safe patient care. Quality and Safety: Manages and coordinates quality assurance program improvement on the assigned unit. Completes and follows up on safety Reports regarding employee/patient injury and any unusual occurrences with the department. Financial Optimization: Participates in planning of the associated areas operational, capital, and staffing budget. Assists the personnel in evaluating practice and creating strategies for further improvement. Observes cost containment practices. Patient Care/Experience: Incorporates and assists personnel with assimilating evidence-based practices into patient care. Verifies that the personnel provide safe patient care in the area managed. Assists in updating policies and procedures. Maintains a good and cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments, and staff. Always maintains and ensures patient confidentiality. Employee Engagement/Management: Supervises and evaluates staff work performance in terms of patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. Supervises daily and monthly staffing and supports accurate timekeeping policies. Evaluates new employees through probationary performance review for permanent status. Coordinates orientation of all new employees. Assists with interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination of employees. Experience Qualifications 5 years of experience in professional nursing. Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse License from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN). Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
