The Beach Supervisor's primary responsibility is to work alongside the team to supervise and ensure operational compliance for all areas within Fisher Island Club facilities. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational role model by his/her team members and is a top professional in the field with a passion for the service. This includes all practices, procedures, training and guest satisfaction levels. A procedural approach to managing the entire beach club must be employed, utilizing modern supervision principles as well as incorporating technological innovations where practical in order to deliver top quality guest service. Nature and Scope The incumbent reports directly to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer, all responsibilities are the same. Duties and Responsibilities Oversees the overall repairs and maintenance jobs performed in all Club Operations areas to include hotel room, rental units, F & B outlets and all public spaces. Implements training procedures. Compiles data to be used on scheduling maintenance and engineering special projects. Assists in the planning of policies, standards and objectives that will provide the institution with an effective maintenance service. Ensures necessary repairs are completed in a timely fashion. Assists with the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program in conjunction with the Chief Engineer. Coordinates with Director and Executive Housekeeper the completion and approval for sale of "out of order rooms". Assists in the completion of inventories. Relates to the Director for consideration of purchasing. Assists with the coordination and supervision of services provided by outside contractors. Makes recommendations when major problems arise, or special projects need to be performed. Submits completed work orders for posting of monthly maintenance service charges to Accounting Department. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have familiarity of basic maintenance practices and knowledge of the equipment used in the department. Must be able to make decisions, use common sense and be capable of working under pressure. Must be able to cover any shift, any day, including holidays. Familiarity of basic operational procedures of electrical, painting, plumbing and air conditioning functions and of radio communications, use of key machine and calculator is a must. Working Conditions Inside/outside office and equipment room environment. Physical Demands and Abilities Work is not performed in an office environment and requires extended periods of walking and or standing. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.
