Job Brief A shipping associate/truck drivers responsibilities include but are not limited to unloading trucks, staging products, preparing shipping loads, storing inventory in warehouse and yard, and delivering products to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift equipment. The position is very physical and requires manual labor. The job requires work on multiple Saturdays per month. Shipping Associate/Truck Driver Responsibilities Adherence to all safety regulations Being familiar with the grades, dimensions, and species of lumber in stock Loading and delivery all material safety and efficiently to customers Performing daily inspections on vehicles as required by OSHA and the Department of Transportation Complete driver inspection reports Maintain maximum security for merchandise loaded on the vehicle Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner at all times Maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times Preparing orders by processing picking tickets; pulling orders as defined by picking ticket, loading trucks, and marking picking ticket for loaded and out of stock items. Counting to confirm quantities. Assisting customers with choosing product and loading orders. Wrapping pallets to prepare for truck loading or delivery. Maintaining warehouse cleanliness by utilizing warehouse space efficiently including sweeping and mopping floors as needed. Regularly empties trash receptacles. Organizing work area and warehouse for orderliness at all times. Making sure all items are stored properly. Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards. Physically racking lumber on a daily basis. Participating in and supports inventory and inventory control activities. Assisting with unloading all incoming lumber, building products, warehouse products, commodities, and materials. Assisting with accurately labeling all incoming lumber, building products, warehouse products, commodities and materials in a timely and efficient manner. Performing other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor Shipping Associate/Truck Driver Requirements High School Diploma/GED preferred. 18 years or older. Drivers license required. Class A CDL preferred. DOT Medical Card required. 1 Year of Truck Driving Experience Preferred. Current forklift certification a plus. Previous warehouse experience preferred. Ability to read English. Bilingual a plus. Ability to operate machinery and follow safety regulations when handling equipment and moving parts. Must be reliable and punctual. Time management skills are a plus. Good communication skills and excellence in customer service. Ability to present information to others one-on-one. Strong physical stamina as this position requires physical endurance as warehouse workers are on their feet throughout the day bending, stooping, and lifting 80+ pounds consistently. Ability to work as a team as warehouse workers communicate and coordinate with one another to perform duties, tasks, and ensure all processes are done correctly. Ability to carry out assigned tasks and follow directions correctly. Detail oriented. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Basic arithmetic skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to accurately use a tape measure. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening. Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet weather conditions. Required qualifications: Legally authorized to work in the United States 21+ years or older Reliable transportation to and from work Transportation license/certification: Class A CDL Valid driver's license Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Review Drug screening Speaks English Reads English Available to work: weekdays Has (or willing to open) a checking account for direct deposit Preferred qualifications: Able to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
