Material Handler - Overhead Crane Operator (Swing Shift) Salary Range: $23.25 - $29.75 Hourly Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Any Education Level: None Travel Percentage: None Category: Manufacturing Description Material Handler - Crane Operator (Swing Shift) Summary: Material handling, packaging, and cleaning equipment. Responsible for following written and verbal work instructions. Experience required. Salary: $23.25 - $29.75/hr Most employees start between $23.25 and $26.50. The higher end of the range, $29.75, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications. Shift: Mon-Fri, 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM Benefits: Eligible after 30 days month following employment PTO: Prorated award and annual award in January Holiday Pay after 30 days of employment Employee Engagement Program: Eligible day after employment Summary: Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (ground controlled) to lift, move, and position steel loads within the production facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load. Manipulates or depresses crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement. Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires. Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism. Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions. Assist with training newly hired Material Handler I Qualifications Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization. Math Ability Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
