Job Opportunity: Forklift Drivers Forklift Drivers Location: Sterling Heights, MI Shift: 3rd (6:00pm-5:00am) Production: $17.50/hr + $1.50 shift premium = $19.00/hr Mandatory over-time on weekends as neededYou will be working in the yard, production, and shipping. This means you MUST be comfortable working in the heat, cold, rain, snow and must be flexible with your departmentForklift Operators will be required to use standard diesel of propane powered forklifts or telescopic forklifts primarily assigned to unload materials and supplies necessary for the plant operation; move palletized bagged materials from a conveyor line to the storage yard; load both flatbed and box trucks for shipping using either portable loading ramps or operating off the ground.Work safely and responsibly and follow all safety policies and proceduresPerform daily equipment checks and minor service maintenanceMoving palletized materials throughout the storage facilityInstalls and re-supplies as necessary rolls of bagging film, rolls of stretch wrap, top sheet, pallets, bottom sheet, labels, and other consumables as needed.Follow shipping instructions and load trucks with proper materials to complete ordersMove & stack pallets in the correct storage areasLift and carry boards between pallets while stackingAlign pallet stacks vertically and safelyEnsure bags are not damaged during pallet handlingExamine bag products to verify conformance to quality standardsPerform work according to accepted procedures and practicesChange out propane tanks or fill with diesel fuel depending on the type of forkliftKeep accurate records of production dataCommunicate all concerns affecting safety, quality, productivity and the work environment to the SupervisorOther work as required and assigned Responsibilities and DutiesMust have forklift experienceHigh degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and coworkers; promote a safe workplaceMust be able to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glassesMust be able to speak, comprehend, and read EnglishMust be able to work safely in varying temperatures in production/warehouse workplace and outside year roundMust be able to lift and carry 20-25 pounds regularlyMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally Qualifications and SkillsAt least 3 years of forklift experience in manufacturingMust have a forklift licenseMust be willing to undergo a background/drug test
