Shipping Material Handler - 2nd/SHP/CB The primary function of this position is to off load full cases of finished goods, palletize cases, wrap, and transport pallets to the staging area and load trailers according to the loading plan. Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work, and prepare for operations. Off load full cases of finished goods from stock, belt/conveyor, or staged area to be palletized, scanned, and count verified Transport completed pallets to shrink wrap or staging area with pallet jack or fork lift needed Shrink wrap the completed pallets to secure the product to be shipped Transport cases to the loading dock or shipping belt by hand, with a hand cart or other PIT (if prior PIT certification has completed by the Safety department) as required Load full pallets onto trailers by hand, with hand cart, forklift, or pallet jack according to the loading sheet plans Change out shrink wrap rolls, change forklift/pallet jack batteries and remove broken stock to appropriate staging areas as required Perform general housekeeping duties regarding tools and equipment and in work area as needed Secure all assigned equipment daily Fill out all daily documentation associated with the Shipping Process Standing 50% 8 Hours Walking 50% 8 Hours Sitting 0% 8 Hours Reach, pinch, grasp, turn twist, drive 50-75% 8 Hours Read, Drive, hand control, Twist back, bend, turn head 20-50% 8 Hours Climb, balance, count, Data Entry, Lifting Carrying Push/Pull (object wt) 5-30 lbs 30lbs 3-500 ft Case/pallet of cases w/jack/truck controls Must achieve PIT certification Compensation Information Rate Of Pay: $18.54, Plus $1.00 Shift Differential Employees must be available to work extended shifts (910 hours), including overtime, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with operational demands.
