Hourly Part Time No Benefits JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Clerk/Typist 1 PAY RANGE: Range 11; $18.93/hr to $28.37/hr Starting wage is typically at or near beginning of pay range depending on qualifications and experience. PART-TIME, approx. 20-25 hrs / week. Afternoon shift. Must be available in the afternoons between 1pm and 5pm, M-F. DEPARTMENT: Finance Department STATUS: Permanent Part-Time; no benefits FLSA CODE: Non-Exempt First Review - Monday March 9th, 2026 - with interviews to follow March16th-20th NATURE OF THE WORK An incumbent in this part-time job class performs clerical and receptionist related duties under the direction of the Finance Director and assists finance, utilities, and administration department staff at the Lindon City Center front desk. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Greets and assists the public with inquiries about various city matters. Enters data into computer software systems. Answers and processes telephone calls and questions from the public. Logs and delivers messages. May assist with processing of utility bills and assist customers with utility related inquiries. Orders office supplies. Handles petty cash and other monies. Receipt payments; may assist in processing accounts payable checks. Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS Knowledge of: Clerical and office skills and techniques. Report writing. Office organizational skills and efficiency methods; Computer software including sending and receiving emails, use of spreadsheets and word processing software. Ability to: Interact and communicate effectively with officials, administrators, co-workers, and the public. Use office equipment. Effectively use desktop computer and Microsoft software programs. Resolve general complaints and/or inquiries regarding service or processes. Responsibility for: Care, condition, and use of materials, equipment, and money. Maintaining private and confidential personnel information. Skill in: Using computer equipment, office equipment, telephone systems. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A standard senior high school diploma plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES Requires a valid State of Utah driver license. WORKING ENVIRONMENT Normal office surroundings. Light physical effort is required.
