Neonatology Physician

Facility in Detroit, MI seeking Neonatology locums coverage Compensation: $350/hr Night shift $450/hr OT A Michigan facility is seeking a Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible Neonatologist for locum tenens night coverage following the resignation of an existing neonatologist. This is an in-house overnight role with a steady NICU census and an urgent need, with temporary privileges requested. Position Details Specialty: Neonatology Practice Setting: Inpatient NICU Facility Trauma Level: Level III Coverage Reason: Resignation of an existing neonatologist Coverage Dates: March 24, 2026 December 31, 2026 Coverage Volume: Approximately 4 6 shifts per month Schedule In-house night call 7:00 PM 7:00 AM Practice Environment 15-bed NICU Average daily census: approximately 12 patients Average admissions: 0 4 per day Neonatology team includes: 3 full-time neonatologists 2 part-time neonatologists 4 contingent providers Clinical Responsibilities Attend C-sections Manage NICU patients Coordinate and perform neonatal transfers as required No coverage required for Level I (well-baby) nursery. Documentation EMR systems: Cerner / eCare / PowerChart Credentialing Estimated credentialing timeframe: days Due to urgent need, the facility is requesting temporary privileges when possible.
