This is a pivotal moment for the organization, as it is poised for significant growth and expansion. The successful candidates will be instrumental in stewarding the company's mission, scaling its impact, and building a lasting legacy in the field of gifted education. Board members will be expected to partner with the Head of School in defining and implementing long-term strategic plans, including growth and facilities development. They will also be responsible for upholding the company's mission, ensuring financial sustainability, and providing leadership support and evaluation. The ideal candidates will be experienced nonprofit leaders or successful entrepreneurs with a strong background in either fundraising or marketing communications, and a deep understanding of or connection to gifted education. Essential qualifications for the role include a minimum of 10 years' of nonprofit leadership or board experience, a personal capacity for a significant annual financial commitment, and a strategic, hands-on approach to governance. The company values individuals who are bold, intellectually engaged, and who can challenge the status quo with respect and insight. The role requires a time commitment of 20-30 hours per quarter, including attendance at board meetings, committee work, and active participation in the company's fundraising events. While proximity to the Greater Philadelphia area is preferred, the company is open to considering candidates from other regions who can demonstrate the necessary time commitment and have a strong network capacity.
