Supervisor Of Facilities Maintenance The Supervisor of Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities across assigned trades and facility systems. This position provides direct field leadership to maintenance technicians, ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, and supports reliable operation of buildings, infrastructure, and operational assets. The Supervisor oversees work order intake and prioritization, monitors preventative maintenance completion, enforces safety standards, and serves as the first level of technical support and problem resolution. This role ensures maintenance activities support operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and a safe environment for staff, guests, and animals. Specific duties and responsibilities include supervising facilities maintenance technicians and assigned trades, supporting management in implementing departmental goals, providing regular operational updates, providing technical oversight, assisting in managing maintenance work orders, ensuring effective maintenance and repair of building systems, coordinating emergency and urgent maintenance response, enforcing safety policies, coordinating maintenance activities with operations and other departments, monitoring inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies, overseeing and coordinating work performed by outside contractors, administering and continuously improving training programs, leading and developing technicians, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, minimum five years of facilities maintenance or skilled trades experience, previous supervisory or team leadership experience, knowledge of building systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and FMX or similar maintenance management software, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively, ability to adapt to changing operational needs and remain calm under pressure, strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision in support of multiple departments throughout the zoo, valid driver's license required to operate Zoo vehicles, ability to meet physical requirements, full-time position requiring flexibility including working evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response support as needed, and ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, background check, and TB test is also required.
