We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a buyer, based out of our Sterling Heights, MI location. This role will report to the manager of purchasing & logistics at the plant level. The Role: Utilizes best practices for logistics departments across the corporation and implements continuous improvement wherever possible Drives materials planning process and inventory min/max management to avoid stockouts, expedites and overstocking Provides direction to suppliers and releases materials required for supporting production Works with plant customer service to ensure all customer specific requirements are satisfied Assists with physical inventories and conducts audits/cycle counts Expedites required materials to support ongoing production Meets inventory levels, min/max values, as set by team Coordinates purchased part engineering changes with engineering team to minimize obsolescence Our Ideal Candidate: Has a minimum of 3 years' related experience in purchasing, materials management or supply chain management in an automotive environment Has post-secondary education in purchasing, materials management or supply chain management Understands bill of materials, contracts, terms, conditions, purchase orders Has superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively Has advanced computer literacy skills Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of ERP systems Completes understanding of the IATF 16949 policies and procedures required for the purchasing and materials department We thank all candidates for their interest, however only those who qualify for an interview will be contacted.
