Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) The Emergency Room RN is a highly skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering rapid, comprehensive care to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. This role demands strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ER RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with emergent medical needs Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments, including triage, vital signs, and health histories Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in condition Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and emergency interventions Provide care for trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and other critical conditions Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards Respond promptly to emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or rapid deterioration Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality Minimum Requirements Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; ER experience preferred Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable) Current BLS certification (ACLS required; PALS preferred) TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation) Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Successful completion of new hire orientation and ER training Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations Strong communication skills and proficiency in English Basic computer literacy Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs Interested in learning more about pay rates?
