Job Description The Director of Estimating is responsible for leading and managing all estimating and preconstruction activities for commercial interior and infrastructure projects. This individual will play a critical role in setting competitive estimating strategies, ensuring accuracy across all CSI divisions, and supporting the organization's continued growth into larger and more complex project scopes. This role oversees a team of four estimators and works closely with project managers and design partners to develop budgets, evaluate scopes, and identify value-engineering opportunities. The Director will report directly to senior leadership and contribute to high-level decision-making related to pursuit strategy and operational planning. Key Responsibilities: Lead conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating for commercial interior and infrastructure projects, including MEP-intensive scopes. Develop accurate cost analyses across CSI Divisions 2-16 during design and preconstruction phases. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of four estimators (experience levels ranging from 2-7 years). Establish and execute estimating strategies to ensure competitive, high-quality proposals. Collaborate with project managers and design teams on budgets, constructability reviews, and value-engineering options. Oversee estimates for projects including cooling towers, chiller replacements, generator upgrades, exterior renovations, and infrastructure improvements. Utilize BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, and Excel to support efficient and accurate estimating processes. Report directly to senior leadership, aligning estimating outcomes with broader business objectives. The Successful Applicant 10+ years of commercial estimating experience with a strong background in preconstruction and conceptual budgeting. Deep knowledge of commercial construction scopes, including MEP systems and interior renovations. Proven leader with experience managing and developing estimating teams. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, in-office environment. Experience across a variety of commercial sectors such as healthcare, office, hospitality, education, and industrial projects.
