Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager Hotel Construction Our client, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a ground-up hotel in the Chicago metro area. This is a role overseeing all phases of and construction, from preconstruction through closeout, on a complex, design-forward hospitality project. The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing large-scale ground-up construction projects in Chicago, a strong command of local contractors and consultants, and the ability to lead sophisticated projects with multiple stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead full lifecycle project execution for a ground-up hotel, from preconstruction through turnover and stabilization Manage project budgets, schedules, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with overall development objectives Oversee architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants to ensure quality, design intent, and constructability Drive preconstruction efforts including estimating, value engineering, constructability reviews, and GMP negotiations Serve as primary point of contact for ownership, brand partners, lenders, and internal stakeholders Monitor construction progress, resolve field issues, and proactively mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, and quality Ensure compliance with Chicago and Illinois permitting, zoning, code requirements, and inspection processes Lead project reporting, forecasting, and executive updates Oversee commissioning, punch list, closeout, and turnover to operations Qualifications 10+ years of experience managing ground-up construction projects, preferably within hospitality, mixed-use, multifamily or luxury asset classes Proven experience delivering projects in the Chicago metro market, with strong knowledge of local contractors, consultants, and regulatory processes Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Strong financial acumen with experience managing large project budgets and schedules Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, owner-representative environment Why This Role Opportunity to lead a flagship hospitality project in a premier urban market High level of ownership and autonomy
