VDC Mechanical Lead - Fully Remote Position A federal contractor is seeking a VDC Mechanical Lead to support and coordinate all aspects of Building Information Modeling (BIM) related to mechanical and plumbing systems. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing 3D models through collaboration with design consultants, preconstruction teams, operations, and supply chain partners. The VDC Mechanical Lead ensures quality, accuracy, and compliance with contract requirements on high-profile federal projects. Responsibilities Include: Leading BIM production, coordination, and management for mechanical and plumbing systems. Developing, implementing, and maintaining 3D BIM models to support design and construction teams. Performing clash detection and resolution across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including design consultants and construction operations. Supporting the development and implementation of BIM standards and best practices. Contributing to field construction efforts and coordinating with site teams when required. Facilitating 3D scan model collaboration and integration into project workflows. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related A/E/C discipline. 5+ years of BIM design experience, including clash detection and design coordination. 5+ years working with architecture, engineering, MEP systems, and construction. Proficiency with: Revit Navisworks AutoCAD Bluebeam Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) BIM360 / Autodesk Docs Field construction experience preferred. Experience preparing and implementing BIM standards preferred. U.S. citizenship strongly preferred due to federal project requirements; ability to comply with government contractor background and security processes required.
