American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience, active GA or compact RN license, and telemetry monitoring skills including titrating cardiac drips. Responsibilities Neuro/Stroke PCU floor with a mixed patient population including respiratory, cardiac, and general medical cases Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30 Continuous telemetry monitoring required; experience titrating cardiac drips is required Uses Epic (EMR), Pyxis (medication dispensing), and SBAR communication framework Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) Every other weekend required Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed No on-call or call-back requirements No block scheduling First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted RTO is capped at 7 days; no RTO may be requested during the first week of the assignment If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work those holidays and no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1) Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted — the posted shift is firm Navy blue scrubs required Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-677198.
