ASST HEAD FACILITY SERVICEPERSON-ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE/EX/CTR To perform semi-skilled work, under the direction of the head facilities serviceperson, in the supervision and participation of the cleaning program to maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and safe condition of the facilities, and be able to operate various mechanical systems in a responsible and accurate manner in the performance of assigned responsibilities. Essential Performance Responsibilities The Assistant Head Facilities Serviceperson (Elementary/Middle/Exceptional Child Center) shall carry out the following performance responsibilities: Review work performed by Facilities Serviceperson and other employees assigned to the shift. Instruct subordinate personnel in the proper use of supplies, equipment, chemicals, ladders and safety procedures. Perform the duties of Facilities Serviceperson. Activate, monitor, adjust and turn off boilers, air conditioning equipment, power sources, etc. Climb steps and ladders to change light bulbs and effect minor repairs. Verify the security of the school prior to departure. Inform supervisor of needed supplies. Perform the duties of the Head Facilities Serviceperson for vacation and other non-extended periods of time. Practice safety continuously and ensure that a safe working area exists. Participate in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency. Complete all projects in a competent manner. Perform duties which require extensive physical effort. Review current developments related to job responsibility. Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Perform other duties required by the principal or administrator. Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies. Minimum Qualifications & Experience The minimum qualifications and experience required include: Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program. Three (3) years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience. Ability to follow standard custodial practices. Ability to act as Head Custodian in his/her absence. Ability to plan and direct the work of others. Considerable knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment. Ability to understand and practice energy conservation. Ability to climb and work from ladders. Ability to assume responsibility and follow instructions. Ability to operate heavy duty floor scrubbing and rug shampooing equipment. Completion of the Professional and Master Facilities Service job related training program. Computer skills as required for the position. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Bilingual skills preferred. Physical Requirements Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Terms of Employment Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board. Compensation Hourly Rate: $20.61 - $30.04 per hour. New hires will be hired at the minimum of the assigned salary range.
