Job Description

Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Retail Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically knowledgeable, and committed to improving patient health outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Provide patient counseling on medication usage, dosage, side effects, interactions, and storage. Administer immunizations and other clinical services in accordance with state regulations. Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure workflow efficiency and accuracy. Process insurance claims and resolve prescription coverage issues. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company policies and pharmacy laws. Monitor inventory levels, manage medication stock, and ensure proper storage conditions. Provide recommendations for over-the-counter (OTC) medications and healthcare products. Maintain accurate documentation and patient records. Ensure a clean, safe, and professional pharmacy environment. Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Active state pharmacist license in good standing. Immunization certification (if required by state). Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmacy law. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting. Experience with pharmacy management systems and insurance processing. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff. Work Environment: Retail pharmacy setting (independent, grocery store, or chain pharmacy). Standing for extended periods. May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
