Procurement Specialist HII (Huntington Ingalls Industries) is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Procurement Specialist for their Syracuse, NY Operations. This position will support the procurement of material and equipment for various programs. The Procurement Specialist will work with engineers, program managers, and suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are being met and will be an integral team member supporting various programs. Essential Job Responsibilities: Execute the procurement of material and equipment including price, availability, and delivery schedule. Collaborate with Engineering and Program Management to identify issues and opportunities to reduce part shortages. Provide timely response to requests for material. Provide support to program teams in product cost estimating. Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQ's), source selections, and analyze results. Negotiate pricing and contractual terms. Develop and provide accurate material shortage and progress metric reports. Manage supplier relationships and performance issues related to on time delivery and quality. Prepare, organize, and maintain electronic purchasing records and data documenting performance and compliance. Minimum Qualifications: 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience. Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel. Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction. Ability to work both in a team and individually Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Preferred Requirements: Experience working with U.S. government contracts, including FAR/DFAR regulations. Procurement of Aerospace electronics and metal fabrication experience preferred. Prior Costpoint experience a plus. Clearance: An active secret security clearance.
