Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors. Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required]• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]• Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy [Required]• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet software [Required]• Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc. [Required]Education:• Bachelor's [Required]Field of Study:• N/AWork Experience:• N/AAdditional Information:• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
