For more information, please visit our website:Job Title: Facilities Tech Lead Hourly Range: $28.00 - $32.00 hourly Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Location: Broomfield, Colorado Position Objective The Lead Facilities & Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that company facilities are safe, fully operational, and maintained to the highest standards. This position performs all duties of Facilities Technician I and II while taking ownership of complex repairs, equipment-level maintenance, and facility projects of moderate to high complexity. The Lead Technician serves as the primary technical resource for the team, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight to other technicians while coordinating vendors, managing project deliverables, and upholding departmental quality, safety, and compliance standards. This role is responsible for maintaining facility performance, troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues, and executing facility initiatives on time, within scope, and in alignment with organizational and regulatory standards. By combining hands-on technical expertise with leadership, project management, and mentorship, the Lead Technician ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for employees, customers, and partners. Essential Functions Facility Maintenance (60%) Execute all routine and advanced facility maintenance tasks of a Facilities Technician I and II, including: o Painting, drywall patching, caulking, carpentry, fixture replacement, and general upkeep. o Conducting walkthroughs and inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs, safety risks, or compliance gaps. o Responding to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, escalating more complex issues as necessary. Diagnose and repair complex structural, mechanical, and facility system issues beyond basic maintenance scope, ensuring safe, compliant, and durable solutions. Perform equipment-level maintenance and repairs on facility-related systems, including HVAC, pumps, motors, or other operational equipment, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturer guidelines. Conduct advanced plumbing and electrical repairs, including leak repairs, pipe replacement, fixture installation, circuit troubleshooting, component replacement, lighting and outlet repairs, and safety system maintenance. Project Execution & Departmental Lead (25%) Take ownership of facility projects, remodels, refreshes, and small-scale improvement initiatives, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and in alignment with departmental standards. Serve as the secondary technical point of contact for complex projects and maintenance issues, providing guidance and support to Facilities Technician I and II staff. Coordinate with internal teams to plan and execute maintenance activities, minimizing operational disruption and ensuring compliance. Ensure quality control of work performed by other technicians, contractors, and vendors, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety. Serve as a professional representative of the Facilities team, demonstrating a customer-focused approach while upholding company standards and compliance expectations. Safety, Compliance, & Documentation (10%) Maintain strict adherence to all SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance requirements related to facility maintenance and site operations. Maintain and enforce accurate documentation of completed work, inspections, and identified issues in accordance with recordkeeping standards. Participate in required safety, compliance, and SOP training to remain current on policies and expectations. Support audit readiness by maintaining clean workspaces, compliant repairs, and proper documentation. Promote a safety-first mindset and proactively report hazards or compliance concerns. Training, Coaching, & Team Support (5%) Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and technical guidance to Facilities Technician I and II staff. Lead onboarding new technicians, reinforcing SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards. Share expert best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and preventative maintenance strategies with junior team members. Serve as a primary resource for technical guidance, supporting technicians in resolving complex issues and fostering skill development. Support leadership with identifying skill gaps, recommending targeted development opportunities, and upholding department standards. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in facilities maintenance, construction trades, or a related field preferred. Additional certifications in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or building systems maintenance are a plus. 510+ years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a similar role, with demonstrated ability to perform complex troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment-level maintenance. Proven ability to perform equipment-level maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC units, pumps, motors, and other operational equipment Experience executing facility projects of moderate to high complexity, including renovations, remodels, infrastructure upgrades, and major system replacements, ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, and departmental quality standards. Experience coordinating with vendors or contractors for repairs or specialized maintenance work, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met. Strong working knowledge of complex plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks within scope. Experience responding to and completing work orders efficiently and accurately, following written instructions, SOPs, and documentation procedures. Experience overseeing and mentoring technicians, prioritizing workloads, and providing technical guidance and support to Facilities Technician I and II staff. A clean Motor Vehicle Record is required to operate company vehicles and maintain safety standards. Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in the state of Colorado.
