Certification And Regulatory Compliance Director The Certification and Regulatory Compliance Director role leads certification and regulatory compliance programs, teams, and all relevant activities. Key responsibilities include: Leading the Certification and Regulatory Compliance team by developing a standardized, efficient, and sustainable testing environment, infrastructure, and process framework. Fostering a culture of growth and accountability by coaching, mentoring, and managing Fire Test engineers while ensuring clear, constructive, and professional communication at all levels. Driving continuous improvement by implementing industry best practices and optimizing testing methodologies for efficiency and accuracy. Leveraging deep technical expertise in BESS to design, plan, coordinate and oversee certification and compliance activities with third-party labs, certification agencies, and internal stakeholders relating to UL 9540A/LSFT, UL9540, UL1741, UL1973, IEC 62619, IEC 62933-5-2, NFPA 855, etc. Representing Fluence Energy as an active technical committee member for relevant standards such as UL9540A, CSA C800, UL1973, UL1741, UL9540, etc. As needed, spearheading all aspects of UL9540A Unit Level, Large-Scale Fire, UL9540 and any other test projects including test plan development, instrumentation at factory level, test setup and execution at third-party laboratories to ensure timely and successful execution. Promoting cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and regional teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing. Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) and primary point of contact for all communications with certification bodies and external test laboratories. Collaborating with program and project managers to meet deadlines, define test KPIs, and ensure timely reporting of progress, results, and risks. Analyzing, processing, and presenting test data in a clear and structured format suitable for internal and external stakeholders. Making informed, agile decisions based on available resources, timelines, and technical constraints, adapting as needed. Working closely with PM, Logistics, and Engineering teams to ensure test units are prepared and delivered on time to meet testing schedules. Required qualifications and experience include: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a related field. Proven leadership experience, including managing cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers. Strong program management skills, including experience with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying risks and optimization. PMP certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred. Experience in energy storage system related standard and regulations UL9540A, LSFT, NFPA, UL 1741, UL9540, UL1973, etc. Commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, quality, accountability, and professional growth.
