Serve as the on-site representative for Montgomery Parks Activation team for staff, vendors, and guests. Provide exemplary customer service by engaging with attendees, promptly addressing questions and concerns. Manage special event timelines and checklists at events. Monitor events on-site, including all event activities, ensuring the safety and success of the event. Provide support to the Parks Activation Team. Perform related tasks as required. When You'll Work Shifts will be according to event schedule throughout the year, and will include weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and some holidays. 20-30 hours/week. The position requires weekday and weekend availability according to the event schedule. Who We're Looking For We are searching for enthusiastic, reliable team players with event leadership experience, who enjoy working outdoors. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in parks, recreation, or special events. Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualification Requirements Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Stand for at least two hours at a time. Walk at least a half a mile up and down moderate hills without difficulty. Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold. Preferred Qualifications Experience facilitating and leading special events and programs Experience with special events equipment Experience with and knowledge of coordinating special events Previous customer service experience Experience driving large vehicles (pick-up truck and/or box truck) Bilingual/Multilingual a plus Supplemental Information May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing. Supplemental Information This position is part-time and not eligible for benefits. A background investigation will be completed prior to hire. Must possess a valid Maryland Driver's License. This position is based out of Gaithersburg, MD and works at park locations throughout Montgomery County. Position pays at a rate of $22 to $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is for informational purposes only and is subject to change. Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees Health Insurance Plans You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period. If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office. Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
