CNC Machinist (Finish Turn Operator)

Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Finish Turn Operator for our operation in Pittsburgh, PA. The Finish Turn Operator is a member of our Machining Department responsible for operating a CNC lathe to machine our forged rolls. Competitive: wage starting at $23/hr. commensurate with experience, benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401K, Paid Time Off (PTO), Additional Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS, and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program, in which employees can earn up to an additional $3 per hour. Responsibilities: Set up and operate lathe and controller Inspect forging/roll; report any deviation from specification Machine forging/roll to specification Preventative maintenance on lathe Perform other department duties, as assigned Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions: Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. occasionally throughout shift Exposed to seasonal temperature changes Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Previous CNC or machining experience preferred but not required Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment and/or heavy machinery preferred Must be able to read/interpret blueprints Good math skills Strong attention to detail Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen Classification: Hourly Benefits: Eligible after 30 days; medical/prescription drug coverage, dental, vision insurances, company provided Basic Life and AD&D insurance, additional voluntary benefits including hospital indemnity, accident and critical illness insurance, paid holidays, company paid safety shoes and prescription safety glasses.
