Position: Occupational Therapist Location: New London Type: Direct Placement / Permanent Pay Range: $37.35 - $57.74/ hour Job Description: We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a staff position in New London, New Hampshire. This is a full-time opportunity to join an interdisciplinary rehab team, delivering skilled therapy services in an acute care hospital setting. Job Summary Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer Occupational Therapy (OT) treatment modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician. Deliver all aspects of patient care in an environment that prioritizes safety and reduces the risk of medical/healthcare errors. Provide OT evaluations and treatments in outpatient rehabilitation settings. Apply best practices and the latest evidence for common ambulatory clinic pathologies of the upper quadrant (e.g., degenerative conditions, neurologic impairments, orthopedics, post-operative care). Proficiently render treatment techniques including, but not limited to: manual therapy, neuro-rehab techniques, exercise modalities, and functional activities to maximize patient function. Responsibilities: Administer treatments and occupational agents as prescribed to restore function and prevent disability. Assist patients in reaching maximum performance and independence within their capabilities. Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness; recommend changes to physician when necessary. Perform evaluations, assessments, and re-assessments on patients (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and general populations). Assess patient pain and make appropriate physician contact when intervention is required. Develop and implement teaching plans for patients and families; evaluate effectiveness of education. Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, recognizing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs. Operate and manage equipment safely and ensure department cleanliness and safety. Communicate clearly with physicians, staff, patients, and families. Coordinate and direct patient care to align with hospital policies and patient needs. Collaborate with other departments to improve patient care and participate in performance improvement activities.
