Salary: $17.56 Hourly Location : Brookfield, WI Job Type: Seasonal Job Number: 2026-09 Department: Multiple Opening Date: 02/06/2026 Closing Date: 5/10/2026 11:59 PM Central DescriptionPURPOSE: TheSeasonal Laborer/Operator performs day-to-day maintenance and improvement of grounds, facilities, equipment and services associated with the mission of various City departments. The incumbents of these positions work approximately 32-40 hour work weeks and may be assigned during the months from March through November. Actual work time is dependent on the weather and staffing needs of the City. Employment is at-will, and may be terminated at any time by the City. Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: DepartmentTotal of Positions NeededSchedule (Hours may vary based on the needs of the Division)General Position Responsibilities Include:PARKSUp to 5 vacanciesVaried start dates ranging between March 15th through November 15th Monday -Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Maintain park grounds; collect & dispose of litter and refuse, mow and trim grass; Rake and remove leaves and brush; general landscape and horticultural work; painting and staining; maintenance of ball diamonds; support of recreation programs, as assigned; clean park buildings, shelters, restrooms & picnic areas; operate & maintain various pieces of motorized equipment, trucks/vehicles and tools, as assigned.HIGHWAY Up to 3 vacanciesMay through October Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. City right-of -way maintenance; mow and trim grass on road edges and medians; assist with traffic control for road projects; general maintenance, as assigned; maintenance repairs of roadways, road edges, ditching and culvert work; clean public works building, construction vehicles, cars & trucks.WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT Water Pollution Control Center Up to 1 vacancyMay through November Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.Mowing grass; flagging; tank maintenance; traffic control; hosing tanks; building maintenance; painting; or lab intern. Typical QualificationsREQUIREMENTS: At least age 18. Valid Wisconsin driver's license. Ability to lift 60 lbs. Requires some experience and training beyond high school in general grounds maintenance or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills. Ability to work a 6 month seasonal position.
