Job Summary: Physician who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of breast issues, including breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Job duties include dealing with surgical and non-surgical treatment of all conditions affecting the breast and related structures, as well as providing comprehensive care for patients suffering from disorders and diseases affecting breast health. Duties/Responsibilities: (95%) Patient Care Provides a personalized treatment plan for each patient and monitors their care throughout their treatment plan Preparing patients for surgery, performing operations to remove cancer and noncancerous conditions, and ensuring effective post-surgical care for your patients Collaborate with colleagues, mid-levels, imaging, oncology, and integrative providers and support staff (nurses, navigators, genetic counseling, patient care coordinators, etc) to ensure quality, evidence-based, compassionate patient centered care Provide excellent patient care in the ambulatory and inpatient settings Perform surgical procedures include mastectomies, lumpectomies, excisional biopsies, and infusaport placement for chemotherapy, axillary surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissection, oncoplastic closures Document clinical notes in the electronic medical record Attend weekly Multi-Disciplinary Conference (5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines Knowledge of basic level computer skills Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion Skill in written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change Ability to effectively handle details with accuracy Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time approval to work as scheduled Ability to deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassion Ability to resolve service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to the next level Ability to remain calm in difficult situations Education and Experience: Doctoral degree and successful completion of a five-year relevant residency program is required Board certification through the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or equivalent Proficient in benign and malignant breast surgery including oncoplasty Physical Requirements: Basic lifting: up to 30 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
