Environmental Test Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Environmental Test Technician in Austin, TX for a 9 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role performs operational and environmental tests on complex electronic production components and subassemblies, supporting Engineering and Production teams with test setup, execution, and data documentation. You will operate vibration and thermal cycling equipment and compile complete test data packages including quality and defect records. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent Direct experience working with Unholtz Dickie or similar vibration systems supporting engineering qualification efforts Vibration profile development experience Experience with Thermotron temperature chambers Experience setting up and operating vibration systems and thermal cycling equipment to perform environmental tests Experience using instrumentation and monitoring/control equipment including thermocouples, data loggers, vibration controls, accelerometer systems, and pressure/air flow instrumentation Experience using test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and other electronic instrumentation Ability to conduct simulated environmental tests by following standard test methods and procedures Ability to work from engineering procedures/instructions and/or verbal instructions Ability to process and compile product data into complete data packages, including quality information and defect recording Ability to maintain test logbooks with pertinent test information Basic computer skills in an MS Windows environment Must be a self-starter and able to work well both independently and in a team environment What You'll Do Perform operational tests on complex electronic production components and subassemblies Support Engineering and Production groups by setting up and operating vibration systems and thermal cycling equipment for environmental testing (temperature and vibration) Set up and use monitoring and control instrumentation (thermocouples, data loggers, accelerometer systems, vibration controls, pressure and air flow instrumentation) Conduct simulated environmental tests using standard test methods and procedures Use a variety of test and measurement systems from automated test stands to individual instruments (oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers) Compile complete test data packages including quality information and defect recording Maintain test logbooks with pertinent test information Perform other duties and responsibilities as required Job ID: 7348 "Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
