Speech Language Pathologist We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to comprehensively assess, treat, and progress patients with swallowing and dysphagia issues. You will utilize various methods, including bedside swallow, MBSS testing, and passy muir valve. The role involves assessing and treating patients with varying diagnoses and disorders requiring Speech, Swallow, and Cognitive Therapy, in line with established guidelines. You will identify appropriate treatment plans and goals consistent with physician referrals, patient diagnoses, abilities, and age, using objective measurable data. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and treatments for patients with swallowing and dysphagia issues. Utilize bedside swallow, MBSS testing, and passy muir valve in treatments. Assess and treat patients with varying diagnoses and disorders requiring Speech, Swallow, and Cognitive Therapy. Identify appropriate treatment plans and goals in line with physician referrals, patient diagnoses, abilities, and age. Communicate professionally and effectively using SBAR format with the healthcare team, including rehab, nursing, physicians, and case managers. Ensure billing is complete, accurate, and submitted at the end of each day. Essential Skills Experience in decontamination and aseptic technique. Telemetry experience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. CCC Certification through ASHA. 1 year of in-patient SLP acute care setting experience post-C's. BLS Certification (AHA). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in an acute care hospital setting. Familiarity with care roadmaps and Abenity. Work Environment This full-time position is based in an acute care hospital setting, primarily working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts. The facility is a stroke-certified center, providing services such as NBSS and swallow studies. The role involves working with adult patients, and you will be part of a team of 60 therapists specializing in PT, OT, and Speech. You can expect to manage a caseload of 5-7 patients per day, with some days reaching 8-9 patients. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Bernardino, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $67.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
