MUST HAVE 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN HOSPITAL SETTINGMUST HAVE VA LICENSE/COMPACT AT SUBMISSION BLS REQUIRED Hospital: LewisGale Medical Center Location: Salem Virginia Address: 1900 Electric Rd, Salem VA. 24153 Unit: Inpatient Rehab Building: Main 4E General Information Unit Specifics: • Number of Beds : 35 • Patient Ratios :5-7:1 • Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Techs per census, usually 2-4 • Type of equipment : Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, Bladder scanner • Documentation system: Meditech • Scheduling requirements: 12 hr shifts, every other weekend • Floating policy: may be floated to other Med Surg depts. • Patient Experience requirements: Rehab experience preferred Hiring Profile Must have: • Med/Surg or PCU experience • BLS and VA License Preferred: • Rehab experience Advanced skills needed: none Procedures performed on unit: Med administration to include IVs, PICC, PEG tube admin; Bladder scans, Trach care, Tube feeding, Foley cath, Bladder irrigation, Blood Administration Dress Code: • Navy blue or white solid scrubs Awards/Recognition: • Tour of Easy Street- Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: • Opportunity to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to include Nursing, Physical therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech therapy, Physiatrist and Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist to impact patient functional improvements and achieve patient goals for functional independence.
